Getting started
- Open the Tanks tab and tap + to add your first tank with a cover photo.
- Tap the center + button to log a water test or maintenance entry.
- Open a tank to add fish, coral, inverts, or gear under Livestock & Fish.
- Use the keeper menu (top-left avatar) for exports, reminders, and settings.
Frequently asked questions
- Is my data backed up to the cloud?
- No. CoralKeep stores data locally on your device. If you delete the app or use Clear All Data, your journal is removed from that device. Export CSV or PDF periodically if you want a backup copy.
- What happened to the sample tanks after I cleared data?
- Demo sample data is only added on first install. After you clear all data, the app stays empty so you can build your own journal without sample tanks returning.
- What are Tide Credits?
- Tide Credits are virtual coins used for optional features such as exporting a monthly PDF report (15 coins) or saving an HD tank poster (20 coins). New users start with 70 credits. Additional credits can be purchased in the Coin Store. Credits are consumable and tied to your device.
- My purchase didn’t add coins
- Ensure you are signed in with the same Apple ID used for the purchase and that in-app purchases are allowed on your device. Force-quit and reopen CoralKeep. If coins still don’t appear, contact support@coralkeep.app with your App Store receipt.
- Why is a photo required when adding data?
- Photos help you identify tanks, livestock, equipment, and log entries at a glance. You can choose your own image or tap Use Default Image for a built-in placeholder.
- What’s the difference between Livestock “Equipment” and Tools → Equipment?
- Livestock → Equipment is for gear you want in your tank inventory with a photo (e.g. a skimmer listed alongside fish and coral). Tools → Equipment tracks maintenance schedules (service intervals and “due” reminders) for pumps, skimmers, and similar gear.
- How do I edit or delete a tank, log, or livestock entry?
- Open the item’s detail or edit screen — tanks and livestock have edit/delete on their editor pages. Logs can be edited or deleted from the log detail screen.
- How do I request a refund?
- Purchases are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com or your App Store purchase history to request a refund from Apple.
